We are committed to making sure that anything containing asbestos within your home is safe.

What is asbestos?

Asbestos is a naturally occurring fibrous material that was commonly used in building materials between 1900 and the late 1990s and may be found in some of our older properties. Your landlord holds a register of their properties that have Asbestos containing materials identified within them. Countrywise have access to this register and work to ensure that Asbestos containing materials is managed or removed as appropriate.

When asbestos is disturbed it can release fibres into the air. These fibres can cause respiratory distress and long term ill heath, in extreme cases can cause life terminating conditions. Materials containing asbestos, which are in good condition and are managed present minimal risk to you.
